Maraval landslide traffic restrictions to continue until Thursday

The Ministry of Works and Transport says work to clear a landslide that occurred in Maraval on Monday, will continue until Thursday, resulting in restricted traffic.

The Ministry issued the following statement on the matter this afternoon.

"The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the public that from Tuesday 30th August, 2016 to Thursday 1st September 2016, there will be a temporary traffic disruption due to ongoing repair works at #1 Bossiere Village, Saddle Road, Maraval (Opposite M&M Insurance LTD).

Please be advised that the following traffic restrictions will be in effect:

Saddle Road between the Roundabout (KFC) (North) and Rapsey Street (South)

TUESDAY 30TH AUGUST, 2016

No through traffic, local traffic only 12:00 noon to 3:00pm

Vehicles heading North Bound only 3:00pm to 5:00pm

No through traffic, local traffic only 5:00pm to 10:00pm

WEDNESDAY 31ST AUGUST

No through traffic, local traffic only 9:00am to 10:00pm

THURSDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER

Vehicles heading South Bound only 6:00am to 9:00am

No through traffic, local traffic only 9:00am to 3:00pm

Vehicles heading North Bound only 3:00pm to 5:00pm

No through traffic, local traffic only 5:00pm to 10:00pm

THE PUBLIC IS ADVISED TO UTILIZE THE FOLLOWING ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:

• Alternative route North bound traffic: Rapsey Street to Jamaica Blvd right turn onto Barbados Road, right turn onto Long Circular Road

• Alternative route South bound traffic: Long Circular Road left turn onto Barbados Road, left turn onto Jamaica Blvd to Rapsey Street
