Arcos Dorados, the biggest independent franchiser of McDonald's in the world, says it plans to offer 70 new jobs in Trinidad and Tobago this year.
"We are proud to be recognised as one of the companies that generates more job opportunities for young people throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. We entrust our business to them, from ensuring our quality standards to providing an extraordinary experience to the millions of customers we serve across the region every day," McDonald’s market supervisor Kalifa Duncan said in a statement Tuesday,
“Arcos Dorados welcomes young people, even those without any previous experience, reducing the barriers that can normally restrict applicants from attaining their first formal job. We ensure they learn with us what they will need for professional growth. We are proud to contribute to the development of our community by tackling one of the main social challenges in the region, which is youth unemployment,” Duncan added.
In 2018, Arcos Dorados created 56 new formal jobs for young people in Trinidad and Tobago.
Interested applicants are being invited to attend the McDonald’s Job Fair on Wednesday from 11 am to 2 pm at the Cipriani Boulevard restaurant.
Applicants are required to be at least 18 years of age, and to be willing to learn and become a good teammate.
The company says that no previous experience is required, and adds that it offers flexible schedules to accommodate the applicant’s academic life.
The hiring of new staff will represent a 20% increase in labour supply over 2018.
