he inaugural sailing of the Jean De La Valette (JDLV) on domestic seabridge was delayed this morning because of a medical emergency.
Vilma Lewis- Cockburn, acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the T&T Inter-Island Transportation Company Limited, said the vessel departed Scarborough at 6.57 am, 27 minutes later than its expected departure time.
" The vessel was delayed due to a medical situation abroad which required the intervention of the state ambulance. The ambulance disembarked the vessel at 6:40 and the JDLV departed subsequently," she said.
The vessel, which set sail from Tobago with 723 passengers and 130 vehicles, is expected to leave Port-of-Spain for the return trip to Scarborough. It will sail from Scarborough at 6.30 am and from Port of Spain at 4 pm daily.
The Jean De La Valette sailed from Port-of-Spain on Wednesday with Government and other officials on board and arrived just before 5 pm at the Scarborough port.
