The Met Office says a social media post about a pending heat spell, has not been recently circulated by the office.
The social media post claims that over the next week, the country would experience maximum temperatures of 33 degrees Celsius or above.
But in the statement issued on Monday, the Met Office makes it clear that it is not a recent alert.
It states: "Please be advised that the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service does not have a Hot Spell Alert in effect at this time. The Hot Spell Alert that is being circulated was issued in the past. Members of the public are advised to refrain from circulating old alerts."
The country is dues, however, to experience another wave of Saharan dust this week.
