The Met Office has issued a hazardous seas alert for the period Saturday September 29th from 5 am to Tuesday October 2nd and 6 am.
The Met Office says the country should expect large breaking waves in excess of 3 metres, which are likely along north-eastern and northern coastlines of Trinidad and Tobago with effects first around Tobago.
It says choppy conditions may occur in the Gulf of Paria.
The Met Office says these conditions are due to a combination of a moderate sea state and long period swells in excess of 12 seconds.
It says all marine interests should monitor sea conditions, exercise caution, follow the instructions of lifeguards and monitor official news sources.
