Met Office lifts hazardous seas alert

The Meteorological Services has discontinued the hazardous seas warning for Trinidad and Tobago.

It states on its website that "long period swells are no longer observed in the coastal waters of Trinidad and Tobago".

The Met Services had issued the warning for the northern coastlines of Trinidad and Tobago, to run from Thursday to Saturday this week.

The rough seas warning was given an Orange Level Alert via the new early warning system.

However, the alert has now reverted to green, signifying that there is no present hazard.
