The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs says it has been liaising with the High Commission for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in London to ensure that all nationals of Trinidad and Tobago who are in London are safe and aware of the measures implemented by the Government of the United Kingdom in response to the incident which took place earlier today resulting in death and injury.

Four people were killed in what authorities have labelled a terrorist attack outside the Westminster Palace that houses the British Parliament.

The attacker was among those killed.

The area around the United Kingdom Parliament has been locked down and the injured are receiving attention.

The Ministry says all members of staff of the High Commission are reported safe and security measures have been implemented to ensure their continued protection.

The High Commission has notified nationals within the diaspora who are registered with the High Commission and will continue conducting routine checks.

The High Commission has encouraged all nationals to be vigilant and to adhere to the advertised security measures.

Nationals have also been advised that they may contact the Mission in the event of any emergency.
