Missing hiker Kevin Arthur has been found alive.
Details are not entirely clear as yet but CNC3 has learnt that Arthur was discovered by a search team around 2 pm this afternoon.
Fire officers, soldiers, police and civilians units had been combing the hills between Acono Village Maracas/St Joseph and Blanchisseuse in search of the 25-year-old Ministry of Finance employee.
Arthur had left on the El Tucuche trail at Acono Village, Maracas/St Joseph on Saturday morning with a contingent of 50 hikers associated with the Fitness Walkers Hiking Club.
They had set off on a six-hour hike to the Yarra River in La Filette.
On reaching a river bank Arthur is said to have expressed that he could not swim.
Although he had a life jacket, Arthur is believed to have left the group to find an alternative route.
