Moonilal: Is public housing policy being held up by a personal feud

Former housing minister Dr. Roodal Moonilal is questioning whether public housing policy is being held up by a personal feud between two key players.

According to the former housing minister, the prime minister must explain whether the Finance Minister Colm Imbert is declining to give a government guarantees to NH International Caribbean Limited because of an ongoing private legal row involving the minister and the company’s chairman Emile Elias.

Dr. Moonilal says reports of a public-private partnership with NH International being jeopardized also exposes the fact that the venture was a public relations stunt to con the nation.

The former minister says several contractors have been forced to take the government to court over long due payments, which have led layoffs in the sector.

In response to the release, minister Imbert told CNC3, the claims being made by former minister Moonilal are untrue.
