More security lights for Savannah as Carnival in full swing

Ad­di­tion­al se­cu­ri­ty lights have been in­stalled for Car­ni­val at the Queen's Park Sa­van­nah.

A state­ment from the T&T Elec­tric­i­ty Com­mis­sion (TTEC) said the com­mis­sion has in­stalled spe­cial light­ing around the North Park and “Tar­mac” at the Sa­van­nah.

Min­is­ter of Pub­lic Util­i­ties Robert Le Hunte and­Min­is­ter of Com­mu­ni­ty De­vel­op­ment, Cul­ture and the Arts Nyan Gads­by-Dol­ly are ex­pect­ed to switch on the new­ly-in­stalled lights pri­or to the Car­ni­val King and Queen com­pe­ti­tion at 6:30 pm to­day.

Al­so ex­pect­ed to at­tend are chair­man of the Na­tion­al Car­ni­val Com­mis­sion (NCC) Win­ston Gyp­sy Pe­ters, T&TEC’s chair­man Kei­th Sir­ju and oth­er Car­ni­val stake­hold­ers.
