A Morvant couple is due to be charged with the murder of museum director Dr Claire Broadbridge on September 2nd this year.
Police confirmed the new development in social media postings on Twitter.
One tweet states that the DPP late this evening advised on the charge against a 34-year-old joiner and his 32-year-old common-law wife of Seales Avenue.
On Saturday, September 2nd, residents of the St Ann's observed smoke coming from Broadbridge’s home and notified the authorities.
A man who was not known to them was observed fleeing the scene.
Broadbridge’s body was found in her bedroom on the upper floor of the building.
Her throat had been slashed with what appeared to be a kitchen knife, according to autopsy results.
