Part of the Mosquito Creek Road will be opened this afternoon, bringing some relief to commuters.
According to the Ministry of Works and Transport, vehicles will now be allowed onto the higher embankment.
The ministry says this will provide some relief from the perennial flooding that impacts commuters using the Mosquito Creek roadway, as well to facilitate construction of the northbound carriageway works.
Motorists are advised that the posted traffic speed will be 30 kilometres per hour.
The ministry also advises that no overtaking is allowed on the new section of the roadway.
