New contract awarded for restoration of President's House

A new contract has been awarded for the completion of renovation works to President's House.

This as a local contractor has been awarded a $90-million contract for restoration and rehabilitation works on the building.

While an additional $17 million will be spent on the Office of the President.

That's according to Udecott chairman Noel Garcia.

President's House has been in a dilapidated condition since part of the structure collapsed in 2010.

Work is expected to be completed on the project in the middle of next year.

Cabinet approval for the upgrade works was given in February for the Caroni-based firm to begin work.
