No bail for Moruga man on firearm, ammunition, marijuana charge

A Moruga man is denied bail and remanded into custody, when he appeared before a Princes Town Magistrate, charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition and possession of marijuana.

Dane Robley, 24, a labourer, of Indian Walk, Moruga, pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Magistrate Michelle Maharajh Brown, at the Princes Town 1st Magistrates’ Court, on Thursday 17th May, 2018.

The matter has been postponed to Monday 11th June, 2018.

Robley was arrested after officers of the Princes Town Criminal Investigations Department (CID) executed a search warrant at his home around 5:30 am on Wednesday 16th May, 2018.

During the search, officers discovered one Smith and Wesson magazine containing seven rounds of .9mm ammunition as well as 18 grammes of marijuana hidden in a clothes basket.

He was subsequently arrested and charged by PC Jesse Mitchell, of the Princes Town CID.
