Police say the driver of the car that ran off the road and ended up in Williams Bay, Chaguaramas this morning, was not given a breathalyser test.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service says the accident happened in the early hours of the morning following a boat cruise party which are popular in that area.
Police say the driver was overtaking traffic and lost control.
The car cut through the metal safety barriers and then into the sea.
The driver and another passenger were left with just minor injuries.
Coordinator of the Road Safety Project for the Police Service, Constable Brent Batson said they are looking at what evidence can be brought to the Transport Commissioner'S attention with regards to the suitability to this driver to hold a driver’s permit.
Officer Batson is reminding motorists to be cautious.
