Opposition offers proposals to resolve FATCA impasse

Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar has called on Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley to write to incoming us president donated trump to determine the future of the FATCA legislation in the United States.

The call comes as Persad Bissessar wrote to the prime minister seeking a resolution to the deadlock over the FATCA bill.

In a letter to the Prime Minister, Persad-Bissessar outlined several proposals to resolve the impasse that currently exists between the government and opposition on the passage of the tax information exchange agreements bill 2016.

The FATCA bill, which requires opposition support for passage, is carded to return to the house tomorrow for consideration.
