Over 650 rounds of ammunition and a quantity of marijuana were discovered by officers of the Couva Police Station, during an anticrime exercise in the Couva district yesterday.
Officers conducted the exercise, which was coordinated by Supt (Ag.) Andy Belfon, ASP (Ag.) Michael Pierre, supervised by Sgt. Ken Ali, and included officers of the Couva CID, between 2:00pm and 9:30pm, on Thursday 5th October, 2017.
The officers, acting on information, proceeded to a bushy area, at Dow Village, California, where they found 200 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 24 rounds of 12 gauge cartridges, 112 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and 320 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition and five kilogrammes of marijuana, buried.
No arrests were made in connection with the finds.
