Padarath: Rowley's $350,000 roti figure inaccurate

Princes Town Member of Parliament, Barry Padarath is denying claims made by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley that the Kamla Persad-Bissessar administration paid $350,000 to a caterer for roti for a Divali function.

Padarath insists that the figure quoted by the prime minister relates to not just roti but other food items as well as non-alcoholic drinks, sweets and staff services provided by several caterers for a Divali event hosted at the Diplomatic Centre.

Dr Rowley raised eyebrows when he stated that there was one bill of $350,000 for the provision of roti alone at a Divali function hosted by the last administration.

He called on Rowley once more to produce the bill for $350,000 in roti or publicly apologise for "lying to the nation".
