A pistol and a quantity of ammunition were discovered by officers of the Central Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise in the Caroni district on Sunday, police said in a news release.
The exercise, conducted under the supervision of Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Inraj Balram and ASP (Ag.) Richard Smith, was conducted around 1:30 am, during which officers proceeded to Harris Street, Caroni, in the vicinity of the recreation ground.
There they conducted a search of the ground’s pavilion, where they discovered one black and chrome Taurus pistol, loaded with one magazine, containing four rounds of 9mm ammunition, hidden under a sheet of ply.
No arrest was made in connection with the find.
