Pistol, drugs seized in San Juan police exercise

One pistol and quantities of ammunition and marijuana were discovered by officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the San Juan district, yesterday.

The exercise, spearheaded by Snr. Supt. Surrendra Sagramsingh and supervised by Sgt. Simeon Guelmo and Cpl (Ag.) Jason Lavia, was conducted on Thursday 11th October, 2018, during which officers proceeded to Second Street, San Juan, and conducted a search of an empty lot of land.

The search resulted in one Beretta pistol loaded with five rounds of 9mm ammunition, along with two packages containing 1.2 kilogrammes of marijuana and a pair of handcuffs being discovered. 

The drug has an estimated street value of $12,520. 

Investigations are ongoing.
