PM off to Barbados

Prime minister Dr Keith Rowley left the country this morning to go to Barbados where he will participate in the signing of a memorandum of understanding.

According to a statement from the office of the prime minister, the agreement, which will be signed tomorrow, is related to cooperation in energy development for hydrocarbons that extend across the maritime boundary of both territories.

The prime minister will be joined by Energy Minister Franklin Khan, Foreign Affairs Minister Dennis Moses, and public administration minister and minister in the finance ministry, Allyson West.

The statement also says finance minister Colm Imbert will act as prime minister until Dr Rowley’s return.
