PM discusses key legislation with Integrity Commission

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has met and discussed three key pieces of legislation with members of the Integrity Commission.

A statement from the Office of the Prime Minister gives some details of the meeting:

"The Prime Minister met today (Wednesday 24th February 2016), with officials from the Trinidad and Tobago Chapter of Transparency International (TI), at the Diplomatic Centre, where both parties engaged in conversation about the status of Procurement Legislation, Whistle Blower Legislation and Campaign Financing.

Prime Minister Rowley gave the assurance that the work of TI was very useful in reducing corruption in the country. The Prime Minister articulated that continuing dialogue with TI would be of benefit to improving accountability and transparency and in Trinidad and Tobago."
