Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has invited Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar and an Opposition delegation to meet with him and his delegation on Friday.

The Office of the Prime Minister says the invitation is in response to a letter from the Leader of the Opposition dated 25th August 2016.

The invitation came via a letter sent Monday by the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, Sandra Jones to the Leader of the Opposition.

The letter was captioned "Crime Crisis"

"Reference is made to my letter dated August 25, 2016, which was sent to you as directed by the Honourable Prime Minister, on the captioned. In this regard, the Honourable Prime Minister has directed that you be informed that he will meet with you and your delegation on Friday September 02, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Office of the Prime Minister, Nos. 13-15 St. Clair Avenue, St. Clair", the letter states.

"Further, he has indicated that if you would be so minded, he would gratefully receive from you a suggested Agenda of items to be raised by you at the meeting by the close of the business day on August 30, 2016," it added.

Persad-Bissessar had written to the prime minister calling for an urgent meeting between representatives of the Government and the Opposition to discuss a bipartisan approach to dealing with this crisis of crime with which the country is facing.
