Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley will return to Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday evening next week.
Acting prime minister, Finance Minister Colm Imbert told today's post-Cabinet news conference that Dr Rowley will travel home to T&T on Caribbean Airlines via New York.
Imbert said that he was advised that the tests went very well and that the prime minister does not require surgery.
"We are thankful our prayers were answered," Minister Imbert said.
He said the prime minister did a stress test and the report was that he has all the characteristics of a young person.
Dr Rowley travelled to California last week for tests on his health, and particularly, to determine if there was any need for surgery on his heart.
