Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has offered congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump.
A statement from the Office of the Prime Minister says Dr Rowley dispatched a letter to Trump, congratulating him on his recent victory at the polls to become the 45th President of the USA.
It says the prime minister took the opportunity to re-affirm the commitment of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago to strengthening and deepening the already excellent bilateral ties, which exist between Trinidad and Tobago and the United States of America.
"Citing Mr Trump’s victory as an indication of the confidence placed in him by the American people, Dr Rowley conveyed best wishes to President-elect Trump, his administration and his family," the letter said.
Trump won the November 8th election, beating Democrat Hillary Clinton in the process.
