The Works Minister says the Point Fortin Highway may be completed within the next 2 and a half to 3 years.

This as the project is currently at a standstill due to a legal battle between the state and recently terminated contractor OAS.

Minister Hinds says OAS is attempting to challenge the notice of termination.

But Minister Hinds said the government is committed to finishing the highway started by the People's Partnership administration.

Hinds says the rest of the highway will be completed in segments by local contractors, and the tendering would begin soon.

However, Minister Hinds says firstly an evaluation of the existing infrastructure is needed.
