Police Association not supporting Friday's nationwide shutdown

National Security Minister Stuart Young and Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of National Security Glenda Jennings-Smith, have met with the Police Service Social and Welfare Association to discuss a number of matters affecting police officers.

The meeting, which lasted for about an hour and a half, was described as being "very productive". 

A statement by the ministry said that the Minister addressed the issues raised and indicated that he looks forward to the continuation of the relationship with the TTPS.

The association told the minister that it is not participating in or supporting the actions being called for by various trade unions on Friday 7 September, 2018.

The association was represented by President Ag. ASP Michael Seales; Vice President Ag. Snr. Supt. Richard Corbett; Secretary Ag. ASP Anand Ramesar; Assistant Secretary Ag. W/Cpl. Cynthia Trim; Treasurer Sgt. Joshua Pierre; Trustees Insp. Ian Carty, Ag. ASP Raymond Thom and First Division Officer Supt. Wayne Mohammed, and Protocol Officer Mr. David Lewis.
