Police destroy $2 million in weed

Police have destroyed $2 million worth of marijuana during a joint police-army drug eradication exercise, in the Moruga and St. Mary’s districts.

The exercise, which took place between 7 am and 5 pm on Wednesday 24th May, 2017, included officers from the Organised Crime Narcotics and Firearms Bureau, Princes Town CID, Southern Division Task Force, Moruga and St. Mary’s police stations, the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment and the Air Support Unit.

A total of four marijuana fields were destroyed, including 40,000 seedlings, two thousand fully grown marijuana trees, 15 pounds of cured marijuana, one drying rack and four camps.

No arrest was made in connection with the finds.
