Police have discovered $2 million worth of marijuana trees at a camp in the St. Joseph district.
The weed was destroyed by officers of the St. Joseph Police Station, during a marijuana eradication exercise conducted over the weekend.
The exercise, coordinated by ACP (Ag.) McDonald Jacob and spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Michael Daniel, took place between 4 am and 10 pm, on Friday 31st August, 2018, also included officers attached to the St. Joseph Crime Patrol and Criminal Investigations Department.
During the exercise, officers proceeded to Spring Valley Road, where they discovered five marijuana fields in a forested area, containing 2000 fully grown marijuana trees, along with five sheds stocked with seedlings and fertilizer.
Investigations are ongoing.
