Police destroy $3.2 million in marijuana in Biche forest

Eight marijuana fields in the Biche district have been destroyed by Eastern Division officers during a marijuana eradication exercise yesterday.

Supervised by Insp. Ken Lutchman, of the Sangre Grande Criminal Investigations Department, the exercise included PCs Joachim Flores, Kern Diaz, Liston Billy, Randy Rambharat, Samuel Aberdeen and WPCs Marlene Reefer and Sharon King, of the Eastern Division Task Force Area South, along with personnel from the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit and Air Support Unit.

The exercise, which took place between 9 am and 1 pm on Wednesday 25th April, 2018, resulted in officers destroying eight marijuana fields, three racks of cured marijuana and two camps.

The drug amounted to a total weight of 321.8 kilogrammes with an estimated street value of TT$3.2 million.

No arrests were made in connection to the finds.
