Police find 5.56 ammunition in Laventille

Officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) have discovered 15 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition after they responded to reports of loud explosions in the Laventille area last night.

IATF officers from the Duncan Street Post, were on mobile patrol at St. Paul Street, Laventille, when they responded to a report of loud explosions in the vicinity of Pleasance Terrance, Block 8, around 9:45 pm, on Thursday.

Acting on information, the officers proceeded to Clifton Hill Towers, where they conducted a search, which resulted in a black plastic bag containing 15 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition being found in an open area.

No one was arrested in connection with the find.
