A man was killed during a police-involved shooting in Carapichaima on Thursday morning.
The victim has been identified as Devon Lewis, of Mungal Trace, Orange Field Road.
According to a police report, at about 4 am—acting on intelligence received—a team of police officers from the Central Division went to the house.
On approaching the front door, officers alleged that they were shot at from someone inside the house.
The officers returned fire, shooting Lewis several times about the body. He died on the scene.
Police reportedly recovered a Glock 9 millimetre pistol.
Police said Lewis was well known to them, as he was believed to be involved in gun-related offences.
Investigations are ongoing.
