Police officer held for common assault and obstructing justice

PC Angelo Cedeno, 40, attached to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), is currently in police custody after being charged with two counts of common assault and obstruction of justice.

Cedeno, 40, was arrested and charged today at the IATF Base, following advice received from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard, SC.

According to police reports the charges arose from separate incidents which occurred between December 2017 and November 2018.

PC Cedeno is alleged to have physically assaulted and threatened the lives of a woman and her son at gunpoint, at the victim’s home.

A report was made to the Professional Standards Bureau (PSB), which reportedly resulted in the accused repeatedly physically and verbally abusing the victim, and demanding that she drop the charges.

Charges were laid by W/Cpl. (Ag.) Marshall, of the PSB, and enquiries are continuing.
