Police have seized a high-powered rifle and a quantity of high grade marijuana during an exercise in Maracas Bay and Las Cuevas.
Officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force conducted an exercise on the North Coast Road, Maracas Bay and Las Cuevas areas.
They searched several houses and surrounding areas and found a .38 special revolver, two live rounds of ammunition and a quantity of marijuana.
At another location in a fig patch, officers found and seized one 40-calibre pistol and a magazine, three live rounds of ammunition, two AK 47 rifles, two magazines and 27 live rounds of 7.62 ammunition and another unnamed high powered rifle.
The total weight of the marijuana amounted to five kilograms with a street value of $100,000.
No one was arrested in connection with the seizures.
However, a 30-year-old from Paramin, wanted for other enquires was arrested.
