Police are desperately trying to trace a Good Samaritan who leaped onto the train tracks at Tottenham Court Road Underground station in London on Tuesday, to save a man who was taken ill and fell off the platform.
The 47-year-old man was standing on a northbound Northern Line platform when he suddenly became unwell and fell onto the live tracks.
Pictures show the bystander jumping onto the rails and pulling him safely back onto the platform during the incident which occurred just before 5pm.
Police have said the injured man received light cuts and bruises and will make a full recovery.
Praising the work of the bystander, Superintendent Chris Horton, of British Transport Police, said: 'Going onto the tracks is extremely dangerous but the bravery of this man has to be praised.'
