Eastern Division police have seized over two kilogrammes of marijuana during an anti-crime exercise.
Police say that on Wednesday 19th April, 2017, Inspector Jankie, Sgt Samaroo and Cpl Bhim coordinated an anti-crime exercise in the Biche district, which led to one man being arrested and the seizure of 2.2 kilogrammes of marijuana.
During the exercise, officers attached to the Biche Police Station had cause to stop and search a black Mazda BT50 truck along the Cunapo Southern Main Road.
While searching the vehicle, officers discovered four plastic packets containing plant-like material resembling marijuana.
The driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old Kegan De Leon, was subsequently arrested and conveyed to the Biche Police Station.
PC Sarabjit laid the charge of possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and De Leon is expected to appear before the Rio Claro Magistrate Court today.
