Police seize pistol, marijuana in San Juan

One man was arrested and a pistol and a quantity of marijuana were seized by officers of the San Juan CID, during an anti-crime exercise in the San Juan District over the weekend, police said in a statement.

Officers also seized a quantity of ammunition, during the exercise, which was spearheaded by Insp (Ag), Simeon James, supervised by Sgt. (Ag.), Wayne Davidson, and conducted between 4:00pm and 7:00pm, on Friday 10th November, 2017.

Officers were on mobile patrol along the Eastern Main Road, San Juan, when they had cause to stop a silver Nissan Wingroad motor vehicle, being driven by a 32-year-old San Juan man.

A search of the vehicle resulted in one Kel Tec pistol, along with a magazine, with seven rounds of 9mm ammunition and 50 plastic packets containing, 72 grammes of marijuana.

The suspect was arrested in connection with the finds.
