Prime Minister Dr Keith Keith Rowley will lead a delegation to Jamaica on Sunday, that will include Prakash Ramadhar, a member of the opposing Congress of the People party.
The announcement was made at today's post-Cabinet news conference by Minister Stuart Young.
The trip, which will last until Thursday next week, follows upon an agreement by Dr Rowley to travel to the Caribbean neighbours to address grievances over the treatment of some Jamaican nationals entering T&T.
The Minister revealed that the Government wanted to do things differently by inviting members of the Opposition to join them.
He says Couva North MP Ramona Ramdial was also invited by declined.
This is not the first time that a Government has invited an Opposition member to on overseas trip.
In December 2013, Dr Rowley himself accompanied then Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to South Africa, for the funeral service of Nelson Mandela.
The Prime Minister's wife Sharon Rowley and Foreign Affairs Minister Dennis Moses, will also be on the trip to Jamaica and so too will be Minister Stuart Young.
