UNC Senator Gerald Ramdeen, who has been detained along with former attorney general Anand Ramlogan in a legal fees kickback scam, was taken to a Medical Institution at 12:30 PM.
Ramdeen, who has been in police custody since Wednesday morning after surrendering to officers of the Anti-Corruption Investigations Bureau, complained of feeling unwell just before noon.
As a precautionary measure, Ramdeen was taken to the hospital to be examined under heavy police guard.
Sources tell Guardian Media he has not been sleeping or eating well.
Guardian Media was also informed that Ramdeen was interviewed by officers last night and they were completing their interview with Ramlogan today which commenced shortly before 11 a.m.
Ramlogan was arrested by police officers at the Piarco International Airport around 4:15 a.m on Wednesday.
He was about to board a flight to Miami to connect to the British Virgin Islands(BVI), where he was expected to represent the Speaker of the BVI's House of Assembly Julian Wilcox.
Ramdeen surrendered to investigators two hours later.
