Road March results trouble 'Savannah Grass' fans

While 'Famalay' has won the Road March, it certainly has not won the hearts of everyone.

The song, by Machel Montano, Ian 'Bunji Garlin' Alvarez and Gamal 'Skinny Fabulous' Doyle was adjudged the winner, having been played 346 times, as opposed to Kees Dieffenthaller's 'Savannah Grass' which was played 207 times.

The results, posted on the CNC3 Facebook page - www.facebook.com/CNC3Television - have been receiving feedback from hundreds of persons, many of whom believe Savannah Grass should have won the competition.

Here are the mixed views of some of those who commented:

Famalay:
Clyton: Famalay, is a true reflection of unity amongst people from all races, creed, color and religion...In addition and, more important, Famalay engages and beats in the heart and soul of everything Caribbean. It can be played and bring gratification to all carnival around the region and beyond (international) ...with that being said ; road match of course, “Hand Down“ because this song exemplifies what love and unity is about ... run with it family !!!

Famalay:
Nancy: Y’all seriously calling mafia...Both are good songs however the real crossing the stage song was famalay ... Both songs are winners in my books ... Stop causing drama where there is none ... Congratulations to both.

Savannah Grass:
Taariqka: I would never belive it! I heard Savannah Grass way more. The mafia is real but kees dbu you have won the hearts of your people...this reminds me of the year they robbed destra and gave faye ann! #Savannahgrass will always be the people's choice!

Savannah Grass:
Junior: Kes is the unofficial official Road March winner. Congrats.

Savannah Grass:
Crystal: Machel may have won roadmarch....but Kees wrote a new anthem for the country.

Famalay:
Renaldo: I was waiting for alyuh to come out. Everybody done already know once Famalay was withing the rules, which it was. It would have been the front runner for the road March. Kes Savanna Grass is a big tune but not a road tune. Most people start pushing it after machel Monday, some others don't want outsiders winning nothing here etc. Famalay was the clear front runner from the start. What mafia alyuh talking about?

Famalay:
Keel: Everybody love kes song apparently and most people didn't want to cross the stage to it , that's the reality of both songs , big up bunji on your first road March title

Savannah Grass:
Charmaine: Kes you did great in my book you won the hearts of everyone. Congrats to the winners also. Love Savannah grass more

Unclear:
David: Road march has lost it's purpose. Bands should have a vote with their revellers and that should determine what song to be played crossing the stage.

Unclear:
Michelle: Savannah grass may have been played more times overall but not as much where it mattered most. Not on the greens of the Savannah but on the Savannah stage and other judging points, in front of the judges.

Famalay:
Ann Marie: So because Machel won his ninth road match people vex and want to criticize the how much men it took to beat kes. Machel by himself could have beaten Kes. Well deserve Congrats to Machel for his win.

Famalay:
Trevano: Big up Vincy, TNT & Dominica on this!!! The Famalay trample the Savannah Grass Ah woooooyooi. 1 Famalay

Famalay:
Ter: If I wanted to chip across the stage then SG would have been the song but this year was the year for power soca famalay had the hype and the vibes and the energy, lyrically kes SG was d best and will be one of the best song of 2019. I'm happy bunji got his first Road March, tho.

Savannah Grass:
Melissa: I was really rooting for Kes,sigh.

Famalay:
Sujourn: The G.O.A.T eat the grass, famalay.

Kess posted on his Instagram page: "Thank you for the most powerful season ever experienced ! A Season of strength , love , passion and a Season of change . Congrats to all the winners and everyone who has worked tirelessly to make this Carnival a historic one ! In Moving forward let's continue to grow and nurture this culture positively for the generations to come."
