San Juan East Side Symphony is new Single Pan champs

San Juan East Side Sym­pho­ny is the new Na­tion­al Panora­ma Sin­gle Pan Band cham­pi­on.

The band, play­ing at po­si­tion 16 amassed 283 points with the Car­lan Hare­wood arrange­ment of Ald­wyn Roberts’ “Iron Man” to de­throne two-time win­ner New­town Play­boys Steel Sym­pho­ny.

They tied with La Cre­ole Pan Groove for fourth place with a to­tal score of 273 points. 

The Pan Trin­ba­go pro­duced event took place at the Bas­ket­ball Court, Ari­ma, on Sun­day.

A to­tal of 47 sin­gle pan bands per­formed their Panora­ma se­lec­tion be­fore the pan­el of judges over a pe­ri­od of sev­en days at their re­spec­tive panyards in T&T.

Panora­ma 2019 is in trib­ute to cul­tur­al icons Ken “Pro­fes­sor” Philmore, Dr Win­ston Bai­ley, Win­ston Scar­bor­ough, Dr El­lie Man­nette and Dr Clif­ford Alex­is.
