Nathan Tenia, a 43-year-old San Juan jeweller, charged with the murder of Romero Serrette appeared before a Port of Spain Magistrate yesterday, to answer to the charge.
According to police reports, on October 19th, first responders responded to a report of wounding at Dainty Road, San Juan.
On their arrival at 2:47 am on the said date, they discovered the body of Romeo Serette lying motionless on the western side of the road, with what appeared to be a wound to the head and blood oozing from the wound.
The District Medical Officer was contacted and after examination, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigations launched into the murder were spearheaded by ASP (Ag.) Sean Dhillpaul and lead by Insp. (Ag) Chattie, of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region 2.
Tenia was charged by PC Chad Bushell, also of HBI Region 2 on November 8th, following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard, SC, on that date.
The matter has been adjourned to Monday 9th December 2019
