Sea Lots man to appear in court charged with fishermen's murders

A 27-year-old of Sea Lots man is expected to appear before the courts today charged with the murders of 5 Carli Bay fishermen. 

The DPP issued instructions to charge Kareem Stanisclaus of Production Avenue, Sea Lots,  with the murders, yesterday. 

Stanisclaus has been charged with the murders of the fishermen who all drowned off the orange valley fishing facility after they were ordered into the sea and robbed of their boat engines and boats on Monday 22nd July.

Stanisclaus has also been charged along with 25-year-old Shaquille  Roberts, who is also from sea lots; 18-year-old Loyola John of Corinth settlement Ste Madeleine; and 19-year-old Mya Bowrin of Norman Junction Gasparillo,

All four were charged with the robbery of 4 boats and 6 boat engines.

Meanwhile, the search continues for the bodies of two more fishermen identified as 19-year-old Justin Kissoon and 30-year-old Jason "Trevor" Baptiste who remains missing at sea.

Investigations are continuing into the murders and other suspects are being sought by police in connection with the 7 murders.

The pirate attack occurred 11 days ago.

Two of the accused are said to be females, ages 18 and 19 years.

President of the Carli bay fishermen association, Imtiaz Khan, says he does not believe those who’ve been arrested for the crime, are the masterminds behind it.
