Seven held during anti-crime exercise

Seven persons are expected to be charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, after they were arrested by officers of the La Horquetta Criminal Investigations Department, during an anti-crime exercise this morning.

According to police reports, during the exercise coordinated by ACP McDonald Jacob and spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Curtis Paul, officers proceeded to Rocky McLaughlin Circular, Phase 4, La Horquetta, around 12:15 am, today where they observed a group of persons standing along the roadway, passing around an object which looked like a firearm.

 The group was approached by officers and a search conducted which resulted in a Smith and Wesson pistol loaded with seven rounds of 9mm ammunition, being discovered in their possession.

 Seven suspects; five males and two females, all of La Horquetta, were arrested in connection with the find.
