Less than a week after a Tobago teacher was brutally murdered, police have detained the main suspect.
The man who has been on the run since Friday, was found in a forested area in the Plymouth district around ten o'clock this morning.
According to a police report, intelligence-led officers of the Tobago Division officers some two miles into bushes off Arnos Vale Road where the suspect was found hiding in a makeshift wooden shed.
The suspect was handed over to the homicide unit.
The man underwent medical examination today before he was interrogated by officers.
It is unclear when charges will be laid, but officers say they hope to consult with the DPP soon.
Kayla Maria Cain was killed last Friday at a friend’s house by someone she knew.
Her attacker used a hammer and an autopsy found that she died as a result of craniocerebral injuries due to blunt force trauma to the head.
