Teenager arrested during anti-crime exercise

Two persons were arrested during a police exercise in Chaguanas. The suspects were held in connection with the discovery of a revolver and ammunition by Central Division officers.

The following is a press release from the TTPS:

A 17-year-old is among two persons arrested and a revolver and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Central Division Operations Unit, during an anti-crime exercise, in the Chaguanas district, over the weekend.

Officers conducted the exercise, which was spearheaded by ASP (Ag.) Richard Smith, and included the Driving Under the Influence Task Force, between 4:00pm, on Saturday 13th January, 2018, and 12:00am, on Monday 15th January, 2018.

Acting on information, the officers proceeded to corner of Pierre and Cacandee Road, Chaguanas, where they had cause to stop and search a silver Kia Rio, with two male occupants.

The search resulted in the revolver and three rounds of .38mm ammunition being discovered.

A 17-year-old and a 20-year-old, both of Dow Village, California, were arrested in connection with the finds.
