Third suspect appears in court for threatening CoP

Kenyon Lewis a 33-year-old man from El Socorro has appeared before a Port of Spain Magistrates' Court today for making threats against the life of the Commissioner of Police.

Mr Lewis was charged with misuse of a telephone.

He was remanded into custody at the St. Ann's Psychiatric Hospital.

According to police reports on November 23rd, at 3:30 am an E999 operator at the Command Centre received a call, the man threatened the Commissioner’s life. 

An investigation was launched and resulted in Lewis’ arrest at a bar, near his home later that day. 

The charge was laid by Sgt. Williams, of the Port of Spain Criminal Investigations Department. 

Lewis was transferred to the St. Ann’s Hospital, pending evaluation. 

The matter has been adjourned to December 5th.
