Three Erin men are expected to appear before a Siparia Magistrate today, jointly charged with possession of firearm and ammunition, which occurred on Wednesday 15th August, 2018.
Steven Hosein, 28, a labourer, of Ramdass Settlement, Antonio Singh, 25, a fisherman, of Happy Valley Road, and Roger Rajpaul, 22, a labourer, of Franka Village, were charged with possession of firearm and ammunition, while Hosein was also charged with common assault against a 42-year-old Erin woman, after being arrested by officers of the Erin Police Station, on Wednesday 15th August, 2018.
The victim told police she was at her home around 7:30am, on Wednesday 15th August, 2018, when a man known to her who was armed with a gun approached and threatened to burn down her house.
She made a report to the Erin Police Station and following investigations, officers proceeded to a house at Ramdass Settlement, Erin, around 8:45am, on that same date, where they conducted a search, which resulted in a gun and two rounds of .38mm ammunition being discovered hidden in a refrigerator.
Three men who were in the house at the time of the search were arrested in connection with the find.
The charges were laid by PC Hanif Ogir, of the Erin Police Station.
