Three guns, 250 bullets found in Siparia

Three firearms and over 250 rounds of assorted ammunition were discovered by officers of the South Western Division Task Force, during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Siparia district yesterday afternoon.

The exercise, coordinated by Snr. Supt. Neville Adams and Supt. Deonarine Basdeo, was conducted around 4:30pm, on Monday 22nd October, 2018, during which the officers proceeded to Quinam Road, Siparia, where they conducted a search of a bushy area.

The search resulted in a one Bersa Thunder pistol, one Colt pistol, and one Lorcin L380 pistol, along with three magazines and 255 rounds of assorted ammunition being discovered in a pigtail bucket which was found buried in the ground.

The ammunition find comprised of 95 rounds of .45mm, 118 rounds of 9mm and 42 rounds of .380 ammunition.

Investigations are ongoing.
