Three men arrested during police exercise

Police arrested three men during a police exercise when a pistol was discovered under the seat of the vehicle they were travelling in.

The following is a press release from the TTPS:

Three men were held and a pistol and a quantity of ammunition were seized by officers of the Cunupia Police Station, during an anti-crime exercise in the district, yesterday.

Officers conducted the exercise around 3:15pm, on Monday 11th December, 2017, during which they had cause to stop and search a white Nissan Tiida motor vehicle, with three male occupants, proceeding south along the Southern Main Road, Cunupia.

The search resulted in one Steyr pistol, along with one magazine, containing five rounds of .40mm ammunition, being found hidden under the backseat in the vehicle.

The three male suspects; a 25-year-old and a 31-year-old, both of Enterprise, Chaguanas and a 37-year-old of Lendore Village, Chaguanas, were arrested in connection with the find.
